Acupuncture treatments for your Fertility
Acupuncture has been used to support and improve fertility for centuries. Several landmark studies have shown Acupuncture statistically improves the results for both natural and assisted fertility programs.
There has been a big increase in women choosing Acupuncture to improve their fertility over the last fifteen years. I have specialist postgraduate training to support your fertility, and have worked with hundreds of women to help them conceive, naturally and using IVF.
How can Acupuncture benefit Fertility?
Acupuncture is useful for regulating hormones, and can be used to regulate irregular menstrual cycles, relieving pain, PMS or other related symptoms. These effects indicate that hormone function is stabilised which in turn can mean that pregnancy is more likely. Acupuncture seems to function to regulate the body’s own mechanisms so they work better.
We have evidence that acupuncture improved blood flow to the ovaries and uterus, helping your fertility, and encouraging your body to perform at its best.
See the evidence page for studies.
Fertility is an emotional journey
I am a fully qualified Counsellor and a Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I can bridge the gap between the medical aspects of fertility and your own emotional journey at this important time in your life.
I also treat male fertility issues with Acupuncture and nutritional advice. Men are often concerned when they are a contributing to fertility issues but sperm function can improve very quickly.
“Caroline instantly put me at ease when I first started visiting her for acupuncture. With impressive listening skills, not only has she gained a thorough understanding of all my issues and day to day concerns to pinpoint her treatment plan but Caroline continuously offers great guidance and support which I have valued far more than any other therapies I’ve experienced. Coupled with her incredible knowledge and expertise of acupuncture, I have seen great success not only in being able to fall pregnant and maintaining a healthy pregnancy but also encouraging a greater sense of well-being following a difficult few years.”
“When we decided to have another round of IVF my husband insisted I had Acupuncture with Caroline again! He said I was much calmer when I was seeing her, my side effects were much less with the acupuncture, and I had someone to talk to about everything.”
“Seeing Caroline helped me a lot. We’d been trying so long, but going for IVF seemed like a big step and I didn’t know what to expect. Caroline is lovely, she was there for me (with the tissues) when our first cycles failed and she helped me get my head around all of our options. Our last IVF worked : ))!!! and I will be definitely be having Acupuncture during my pregnancy!”
“Caroline was able to stabilise my cycle with the acupuncture sessions which was amazing, it helped me enormously with stress levels too. They don’t tell you how stressful IVF is. She is so easy to talk to and I really enjoyed my sessions, I would definitely recommend her.”
“Thank you for the magic needles ..and the life coaching!”
“Thank you for all your support – and for sharing my happiness starting our family, finally!!”
The Zita West Fertility Network
I have been part of the Zita West National Fertility Network of specialist Acupuncturists since 2008 when it was launched. Acupuncturists who were trained to work alongside fertility clinics and support women using IVF, ICSI, IUI and Clomid were invited to join. Network members have also had access to current specialist training in Reproductive Immunology as well as treating specific conditions that impact on fertility such as Endometriosis and PCOS.
The Zita West IVF Clinic opened in 2012 and has seen amazingly high success rates for their IVF clients, demonstrating the real advantages of using Western medical treatments combined with Acupuncture and Nutrition to offer statistically proven results in achieving your pregnancy.
Fertility treatment schedules
I offer flexible appointments (wherever possible) to accommodate your scans and appointment times at your fertility clinic, whether that is here in the UK or abroad.
